BIRTHDAY PARTIES
With children always looking for something new to try,
why not consider an Archery Party.
The normal booking is for two hours and these are
usually held at an indoor venue. The introductions are made, and then
the basic instructions and rules are taught. These are in the interests
of safety, and for this reason the children will have the first few
"goes" under tight supervision dependent on age. This will be on a
strict "one to one" basis until the coach is satisfied that the child
can continue unaided.
The first hour will be spent shooting at a mock up of
a castle with students attempting to knock over images of Knights and
Dragons in an attempt to rescue the Princess. (Parents are encouraged to
join in with this bit!!)
After the first hour there will be a short break
of about 5-10 minutes visits to the toilet etc.
The final session will consist of a short
competition after a short period of instruction in scoring. The targets
will have balloons and sweets attached throughout as an added interest.
In keeping with current codes of practice, if
children are under sixteen years of age, we expect at least one parent
or guardian to remain with the group until the lesson ends.
